If it can happen to a group of meat packers in Nebraska, it could happen to you.

The New York Lottery announced Thursday that the jackpot for the Friday night Mega Millions drawing has climbed to a staggering $212 million, a $9 million increase over the previously stated jackpot.

"The unprecedented jump of $9 million is due to an astonishing increase in sales experienced across all Mega Millions states," said Nancy Palumbo, New York Lottery Director. "If a New Yorker wins, it will be the highest jackpot ever won in New York Lottery history!"
