JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Two employees of the Jefferson City News-Tribune came forward Thursday to claim a $2.6 million Missouri Lotto jackpot.

Don Kolb bought the winning ticket for Wednesday's Lotto drawing at a Jefferson City gas station. Kolb, 69, and Monica Rackers, 45, have each been putting in $10 a week to play the lottery together.

Kolb is the building and properties manager for the newspaper; Rackers is a creative artist. He has worked for the paper for almost 40 years; she has been there for 26 years.

Rackers and Kolb also were part of a four-person newspaper team that shared a $100,000 Powerball ticket in March 1996.

To date, 212 jackpot tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold in the Lottery's 20 years of sales. Of those, 158 were from the Lotto game.
