HELENA, MD — The winner of a $25,000 lottery prize says his boss gave him a day off work Friday to claim the winnings at the Montana Lottery headquarters in Helena.

John Vilcek of Great Falls collected the prize he won Thursday in the Five Across Bonus Slingo game. He bought the winning scratch ticket at On Your Way, a store in Great Falls.

Vilcek works for Cereal Food Processors in Great Falls. He said he will save some of the money and will use some to pay bills. Part of the winnings will go toward expenses when he and his wife drive to Chicago, he said.
