Powerball ticket worth $1 million sold in NC

A winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold to someone in Rowan County.
When collected, it will be the biggest prize awarded yet in North Carolina's lottery, which began on March 30.
Powerball, a numbers picking game played in states from coast-to-coast, began in North Carolina last week.
The winning ticket matched five numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing - a win worth $200,000 - but the player also selected an extra $1 game called Power Play and any winnings are multiplied by 5.
Lottery officials do not know who won the prize, and could not immediately say when the ticket was bought.
It was purchased in Granite Quarry, a town in southern Rowan County, at the Eastside Kwik Stop, a convenience store.
