SALAMANCA- Twenty-nine employees of a firm in western Spain that produces Iberian ham won just over EUR 41 million, the top prize in last week's Euro Millions lottery.

The winning ticket was bought by workmates for a total of EUR 10 in the city of Guijuelo, which is known for its production of ham.

Despite their good fortune, the employees said they had decided to remain at their place of work - at least for the time being - to give their employer time to find replacements for them.

Countries taking part in the weekly Euro Millions lottery are Austria, Belgium, Britain, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
