MEGA MILLIONS ESTIMATED JACKPOT GROWS TO $96 MILLION

Even though there was no jackpot winner in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walked away winners. With nine different ways to win, a total of 565,641 tickets won prizes in the May 4 drawing. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to take home the jackpot, that jackpot grows to an estimated $96 million for the Tuesday, May 8, 2007 drawing.
Seven tickets came within a heartbeat of winning the jackpot in Friday’s drawing. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (2), Georgia, Illinois (2), New York and Texas.
The winning numbers in Friday’s drawing were: 4-9-20-45-55 and the Mega Ball number was 34. Here is a complete breakdown of all the winning tickets:

25 tickets matched 4 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10,000
1,397 tickets matched 4 numbers for $150

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
