Mega Millions Jackpot Leaps to Estimated $25 Million

Sunday, May 20, 2007 posted 01:01 PM EDT

The Mega Millions jackpot is growing. Friday's drawing produced a total of 444,699 Mega Millions winning tickets in 12 states, including five tickets that came within one number of winning it all. No ticket matched all six numbers to win the $17 million jackpot, so the jackpot for the Tuesday, May 22 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $25 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 13-23-24-30-44 and the Mega Ball number was 5.

The five tickets that came so close to winning the jackpot did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Illinois (1), Ohio (2), Texas (1) and Washington (1).

The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 176 million. The odds of winning any of the Mega Millions prizes are approximately 1 in 40.
