ST. ALBERT, Alta. - Alberta's newest multimillionaire says she used her winning Lotto 6-49 ticket as a book mark.

Tayna Delorme, of Hinton, Alta., won $8,800,833 by matching all six numbers in the Sept. 15 draw.

Delorme bought $10 worth of Lotto 6-49 tickets on her way to work as a radiographer on a pipeline near Red Earth Creek, a community more than 400 kilometres north of Edmonton.

The 29-year-old tucked the ticket inside her novel, and forget about it until the following week when she checked another ticket.

"I said to my boss I didn't win anything, but I told him, 'That's okay, I won on Saturday's draw anyway'," she joked.

But when Delorme opened the book and found the winning ticket, she said she was "shaking so hard my knees buckled, and I hit the floor!"

Delorme said she's quit her job.

"I'm going straight back to school," she said.

She also bought a new Range Rover and plans to buy a rural home.

In addition, Delorme intends to set up trust funds for her 15 nieces and nephews and her two foster siblings, and plans to buy her parents new vehicles.
