Jackpot goes unclaimed but 10 win $200,000 each in Powerball

Thursday, January 10, 2008 posted 10:11 AM EST

The red Powerball is all that kept 10 people from winning the $71 million jackpot in Wednesday's multi-state lottery drawing.

Players in Nebraska, Montana, Rhode Island and West Virginia along with two each in Missouri, North Carolina and Pennsylvania matched the five white balls drawn from the hopper Wednesday, but missed the red Powerball. They each won $200,000.

The winning numbers were 2, 13, 20, 21 and 23 with the Powerball 24.

Overall, more than 482,300 players won some cash on Wednesday.

With no grand prize winners Wednesday, the jackpot will be worth an estimated $83 million for Saturday night's drawing.
