Powerball Jackpot Leaps to $52 Million; $600,000 Power Play Prize Won!

POWERBALL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/03/08 -- The jackpot in America's favorite lottery game continues to get bigger and bigger. Even though the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, 1 lucky ticket in South Carolina matched all 5 white numbers with the Power Play and won a whopping $600,000 cash! An amazing 3 other winners matched all 5 white numbers for $200,000. These lucky tickets were purchased in Kentucky (1), Oklahoma (1), and Pennsylvania (1). In addition, 437,898 tickets across the nation won a total of $4,198,291 in prizes.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $52 million!
The cash option for the Wednesday, February 6th drawing will be an estimated $25.9 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 14, 16, 25, 26, 44 and the Powerball was 30. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Other prizes won Saturday evening included sixteen tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Two additional tickets that won at this prize level also wisely purchased the Power Play and had the $10,000 winnings multiplied by 3 to $30,000!
A total of 84,469 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prizes by 3 Saturday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2 to 5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

Players purchased $19,822,185 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.
