POWERBALL, Oct 05, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- One lucky ticket in Pennsylvania matched all 6 numbers Saturday evening and walked away with the $20 million jackpot. The holder of the winning ticket will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or take the one time cash "lump sum" amount of $10,282,776.

One lucky ticket in South Carolina matched all 5 white ball numbers plus had the Power Play option for a $1 million cash win! Three tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers without the Power Play and won $200,000. These tickets were sold in Louisiana (1) and North Carolina (2).

There were a total of 441,911 additional winning tickets in America's Game Saturday evening. Those tickets won prizes totaling $5,858,734.

The numbers drawn Saturday were 1, 4, 26, 32, 39 and the Powerball was 18. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Twenty tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Eight additional players not only matched 4+1, but also purchased the Power Play option for a total win of $50,000!

A total of 93,938 winning Powerball plays were multiplied by 5 Saturday evening. Winners were able to do so by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot, from 2 to 5 times. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

Players purchased $18,568,004 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.

The jackpot for Wednesday, October 8th will be $15 million.

The lotteries sold over $2.56 billion in Powerball tickets in FY08. That translates into approximately $743 million for worthwhile state projects.

Powerball is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
