News that a winning $28 million Lotto Texas ticket had been sold at a Houston Kroger prompted curious shoppers but no sign of the winner, the store manager said.

The winning ticket, announced Saturday night, was sold at the Kroger at 13133 Veterans Memorial. Manager Debbie Cain said employees learned online that their store was the source of the winning ticket. Many shoppers wondered whether the winner had stopped by the store, she said .

Cain said she’d been in touch with Kroger’s corporate offices, which told her a decision about how to divide the store’s 1 percent share — $280,000 before taxes — hadn’t been made. “But they always do something for the employees,” Cain said.
